The 12.9-inch iPad Pro was announced on September 9, 2015 at Apple's annual event in San Francisco. The biggest iOS device to date, it boasts a 12.9-inch retina display at 2732x2048. That's 5.6-million pixels—more than the 15-inch MacBook Pro. And it's just 6.9mm thin and weighs in at 1.57lbs. A new, 9.7-inch iPad Pro was introduced at a special event on March 21, 2016.
The 12.9-inch model is powered by Apple's 3rd-generation 64-bit processor—the A9X. It also offers 4 GB of RAM with 2x the memory bandwidth of the A8X. It comes in silver, space gray, and gold, with 32 GB and 128 GB of storage. The 128 GB version also has optional LTE networking.
